“Inspired to create a space where patients’ stories unwind and take root in the medicine of the Tide. ”
Dr. Sylvia Orozco Silberman DO, MS
Dr. Silberman is Cuban-American, born and raised in Miami. Dr. Silberman received her bachelors degree in Neurobiological Science in 2009 from the University of Florida, her Master’s in Physiology with a focus in Complementary and Alternative Medicine from Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.), and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Lincoln Memorial University, where she graduated Sigma Sigma Honors and was awarded the Award for Excellence in Osteopathic Principles and Practice. In 2015, Dr. Silberman became certified in Cranial Osteopathy through the Osteopathic Cranial Academy.
Dr. Silberman is deeply immersed in the ever-expanding philosophical journey of Osteopathic principles and practice. Alongside this work, she has explored and integrated the teachings of diverse healing traditions through extensive courses, retreats, and studies across the country.
She honors the insights of Jungian psychoanalyst Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés, author of Women Who Run with the Wolves, whose immersive five-day residential retreats have been a source of clarity and freedom. She also embraces the teachings of Dr. Rosita Arvigo, developer of Abdominal Collective Therapy®, who dedicated her life to studying plant medicine and carrying forward the lineage of Mayan Abdominal Massage as passed down by Maya shaman Don Elijio Panti and midwife Hortense Robinson.
Dr. Silberman draws as well from the work of dancer Emilie Conrad, author of Life on Land and founder of Continuum Movement, a practice that explores the body’s fluid nature and creative expression. She further honors the contributions of Tami Lynn Kent, pelvic floor physical therapist, developer of Holistic Pelvic Care®, and author of Wild Feminine, Wild Mothering, and Wild Creative.
Through these explorations, Dr. Silberman weaves together wisdom traditions that align and converge with the principles of Osteopathic medicine, enriching both her philosophy and her practice.
Dr. Silberman completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Rowan University in New Jersey.
