It is time to approach the body as a whole

I came to see Dr. Silberman for help after an injury and pinched nerve in my neck that involved months of pain and numbness running down my right shoulder, arm, and into my hand, making it next to impossible to work at my desk. After an X-ray and appointment with a physiatrist at PennMed, I was diagnosed with Cervical Radiculopathy (in nerves C6/C7) and spent 8 weeks doing biweekly physical therapy sessions. The pain was still substantial after the 8 weeks of physical therapy and the next step would have been continued physical therapy or an expensive MRI and possible cortisone shot... or perhaps even surgery. That was when I sought out Dr. Silberman from a recommendation that OMT might be helpful instead. I stopped physical therapy and did sessions with Dr. Silberman instead. I didn’t know what to expect from OMT, but after four sessions with Dr. Silberman, my pain cleared and all numbness went away and I was able to work as before. Her gentle manner, full-body wisdom, and skill with the Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment made such improvements on my body, even beyond managing the nerve injury itself. A few months later, when I slept funny and felt the beginnings of the nerve pain return, I went to Dr. Silberman for one more maintenance session out of caution and was completely pain-free within 24 hours. I haven’t had any issues since my last visit six weeks ago and am completely pain-free. I am so very grateful. I have never had such a positive experience with a doctor before, and would trust Dr. Silberman with any issue. I recommend her highly!

My first experience with dr Silberman was nothing short of mind blowing. I was seeking relief from pain in my hips neck shoulders and low back so was taken aback when she asked what had happened to my face, first question. I was not there for my face but it occurred to me that one of my earliest memories of being injured was falling on my face on the ice as a boy. I remembered the pain some but what I remembered more was the shame of that injury. During my treatment I felt profound movements in my body from just her lightest touch. I was entranced in a field of aquamarine light and moved to cry by the feelings stirred within (good and bad). I was offered the diagnosis of “lack of self-love” which was more on point than any doctor, friend or confidant had ever come near and frankly I would have preferred she tell me it was a pinched nerve or herniated disk. That night when looking in the mirror wondering what it means to “love oneself” I noticed my eye was bruised where I had fallen 35 years ago. “the Truth requires no Proof”. But I have all the proof I need to know that Dr. Silberman has a powerful gift for healing. I have met a few healers in my path to a pain free(less) life who have offered small, temporary relief but in 1 treatment she had more impact than all of them. No miracle cure, I’m not even sure what’s changed, but I do feel in my body and mind that everything is different and that’s better and I am thankful.

Dr Sylvia is amazing! I don’t completely understand OMM but Dr Sylvia’s techniques are pretty magical! I went to her feeling like a mess after some orthodontic work and couldn’t unclench my jaw, an hour later I was calm and could relax my muscles for the first time in days! I continued to feel better over the following week and now plan to see her every few weeks during my orthodontic treatment.

I was referred to Dr. Silberman by a physician colleague to try and treat worsening pelvic pain, neck/shoulder pain, and migraine headaches. She was prompt setting up my first consultation after seeking her care. The best body work results happen when your nervous system is at ease. Dr. Sylvia’s presence and non-judgmental atmosphere are as healing as her hands. I first met Sylvia in medical school. She studied manual work for an extra year in school and continues to take courses to hone her skill. This extra training is evident in her adjustments. We were seeing a different body work provider for my daughter who had chronic knee pain and trouble sleeping. The other treatment was effective but did not completely resolve my daughter's knee pain.

The pediatric dentist suggested Dr. Silberman to help with my daughter's health.

My daughter's pain has significantly decreased and she rarely complains about knee pain. She sleeps better and she has improved behavior, improved ability to regulate emotions when upset.

Dr. Sylvia is an expert in her field and a wonderful person. Our daughter Savannah was very apprehensive at his first appointment, but Dr. Sylvia was so kind and patient. Once Savannah was comfortable, she allowed Dr. Sylvia to do a treatment and the different was incredible in just the first few days. Savannah is being treated for a narrow palate and has an ALF and she almost immediately stop snoring so loudly. It’s been months now and we never miss an appointment. Savannah actually requests to see Dr. Sylvia whenever something feels off or hurts with her body. I am so grateful that I found Dr Silberman. I had a disc out, sciatica and a foot drop. I was so anxious because I was worried it would not resolve. However after two visits Iwith Dr silberman I saw improvement. Each time I went to Dr Silberman it improved until it was gone. I still intermittently have sciatica pain but it resolves quickly with a few exercises. Initially, I was offered back injections by another doctor; however, I wanted a natlural treatment and I'm glad I went the natural route. .

Dr. Silberman is a true healer. She has a gift. Dr. Sylvia's is a true healer. I personally have been working on my body for the past three years very vigorously with all different types of holistic medicines (chiropractic, NRT, reflexology, coffee enemas, ect.)while they have helped to improve my health i was blown away at the improvement all over my body, and my health after just one cranial osteopathic treatment. I also had suffered from some severe trauma in my pelvic region that she was able to help me resolve. She is also amazing with children and after one visit with my three year old who was practically not verbal before the treatment she was speaking sentences 10-15 minutes after we left. Her posture also improved (her hips would curl under) and her bowl movements became regular. I would reccomend Dr. Sylvia Silberman to anyone for basically anything going on in your body. She takes the time to listen to you and your history to figure out why things are going wrong. She dosnt want to slap a bandaid on anything she is looking to fix the root cause and that is true healing.

Sylvia is a remarkable doctor and human being, and I am beyond grateful to have found her (and her care) here in Philadelphia. I have been receiving osteopathic treatment for a few years, and it has helped me to manage my migraines in ways traditional medicine never could. I couldn’t be more grateful to have found Dr Silberman. I came to Dr Silberman after years of struggling with my cycle.
